Odd Serial Number

I'm trying to locate a serial number on a very old wood and canvas canoe. Looking at the stems all I can make out is "RCS2 18". That doesn't seem to to jive with most other serial numbers. Any ideas?

The information at the first link below indicates that it is a Penn Yan Rainbow model in spruce made between 1926 and 1947 as Gil confirmed. The page below from their 1939 catalog may also help. Can you supply a picture of the serial number? Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions,
