Stern pad for carrying

Curious about Wooden Canoes
In rolling my Willowhisp up on my shoulders, I fine it easier if I have the stern on the ground. I try to find some soft grass. I've experimented with a cushion on the ground but I'm not skillful enough to place it just right when rolling the boat upside down. Has anyone made some kind of slip on stern pad to slide over the point on the stern?

I've not done that but only because I use a different method. I stand mid-ships before my lift and bring the canoe up and rest it between my knees and thighs for just long enough to pop it up over my shoulders while I position the carry thwart on my shoulders. This has worked for me on all length canoes but obviously, small, lighter and shorter always makes the job easier. The 14 foot Willow should be a peace of cake for this method.
If I am worried about the decks, I might use a PFD on the ground.

I’ve had the same thought about some protection for the end of the canoe when putting it up on the rack from behind the vehicle. Call it a bra! Someone run with it and keep us posted.

Just posted a picture of my new stern pad in the W/C section; I forgot that I'd started this thread.
