I was recently given a Peterborough Canoe made with a wooden floor and ribs/stretched canvas. Stamped in the keel rib is the serial number 5699 1815. Can you provide with any information on this canoe? Thanks!

My guess is that you might have a 15 foot long Minetta from the 1956 era based on the information at http://dragonflycanoe.com/wood-canoe-identification-guide/peterborough-canoe-company/ but others here may be able to offer more specific information. There are no known detailed serial number records available for Peterborough like there are for some other companies.

My Minetta is 15'. Did they also make a 16'?

The Peterborough model 1815 is a 15' Minetta. All Minetta's are 15'.
