OT 227297-13 planking material 'WC'

Wooden Canoes are in the Blood
Guess this is a question for Benson, though I'm sure others of you will know the answer.
A few months ago Benson provided me a copy of the build sheet for my 'new' 13ft 50 Pounder (thank you again!). Can you tell me what the wood the planking is made from? I think the build sheet says its WC. Do I recall correctly that a while back Benson wrote that WC stood for Western Cedar? Or perhaps White Cedar. And if its Western Cedar does that imply its Red Cedar? I've attached pics of the canoe's stripped interior, and another of the color difference of ribs and planking when wetted. The planking kinda looks 'red' to me.

Yes, Western Cedar (Western Red Cedar). Northern white cedar was designated "MC" (Maine Cedar).

The two are usually easy to differentiate.
