Help Identifying Canoe

I just bought a 3' wide, 17' long wood strip canoe in need of restoration, and I'm having trouble identifying it. The seller said it was an Old Town, but I'm pretty sure it's not, and I'm thinking that it might be a private builder. It has a scratched up triangular symbol on the bow that is for the most part unreadable (see pictures). Can anybody identify it?

It clearly isn't an Old Town. The label may say something like Kelley Canoe Works, Denmark, Maine. This name isn't included at https://wcha.org/catalogs/maine-list.htm in the list of Maine's canoe builders so it was probably home made. There should be a hull identification number on the starboard stern below the outside rail if it was commercially produced after 1972. Please attach a picture if you find one. Good luck,

Benson
