LOVES Wooden Canoes
I looked at the boat today nearby. It's very handsome but the canvas is torn below the gunwales, and a couple of spots on the bottom. It's not tight to the hull near the tears. The cloth itself appears thin, I think it's synthetic. There is some discoloration around the tacks too, maybe salt water has affected them. My thought is that the canoe needs re-canvassing, at least. I don't have the room or time for it, and there don't seem to be any restorers nearby. I will try to post some pictures, I'm open to suggestions.
