Wood Canvas on the Abbey River.

Curious about Wooden Canoes
The Abbey River? Never heard of it? Don't worry most folks here in the UK have never heard of it either. There is also a lack of knowledge when it comes to wood canvas canoes. Back in the day most open canoes were built using traditional wooden boat building techniques, wood canvas construction was very much confined to the other side of the pond. So here in the UK any wood canvas boats are either imported from North American or built by a few enlighten, gifted individuals.
I have a restored 11'6'' Huron Trapper...well, actually, I don't know what I have, Huron Trapper is as close as I can get through the WCHA forum.... So click on the link to see my unknown boat and the unknown Abbey River.
