Temperature range for fastening wood

I prefer hanging my full sized canoes upside down because I like to see the insides. You may want to consider display models. The storage and moving issues are much less of a project.

I'm revisiting this thread from last fall, as I had said then that I would update everyone on what I wound up doing.

I continued wood replacements through the winter months in the unheated garage without incident, having predrilled everything I was fastening. The canoe is done now. I will do a separate post on my journey that got this 1925 O.T. back in the water.

And for year round storage, I've installed a Harken Hoister (pictured) with a block and tackle and pulley system which holds the canoe up and out of the way of cars, shelving etc. So far, so good.
