Source of Painter Rings?

Curious about Wooden Canoes
Hi all. I'm considering putting painter rings on fore and aft decks of my OT for practical reasons. Anyone know of a source for these? Brass or bronze with both the ring and hardware to fasten it through the decks would be great.

Here's a photo of someone else's canoe for reference of what I'm looking for:

This looks like a standard eye bolt with a ring. Both of these should be available from any good hardware store. A similar one is also available from Island Falls canoe at the link below. Good luck,

Benson

Thanks Benson. Yep. I already have a call in to them on a stem band and some screws so will talk to him when he gets back to me.

Another option is status quo. Deck mounted painter rings cannot bear much load. They also tend to split decks.
I have always been in the habit of tying a rope between the inside rails. I stick it down through between the ribs and then I tie to that. Or I tie to a seat.
Another source for deck hardware is the wicked fire starter, Andre. He has a good eye for deck decorations.

Here's how I avoided painter rings and am still able to secure my canoe on top of my car.
A block of wood slides tightly under the inwale, with a rope leading to a ring and then around the overhanging outwale.
Of course, if your outwale doesn't overhang, you will need to figure something else.
The knot securing it is a midshipman's hitch, which is adjustable. Just to be extra secure, I put a couple of overhand knots in the tail ends after the canoe is on the car.
