The HW was a standard model from Old Town as described at http://forums.wcha.org/knowledgebase/Manufacturers:Old+Town+Canoe+Company in the WCHA KnowledgeBase. The dimensions are shown at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/dimens-1.gif and the image at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/hull-x-s.gif gives a comparison of the cross sections of the hulls. The HW was slightly deeper than some other models but not by a lot.

A longer canoe will usually feel more stable and carry a heavier load than a shorter one but there are many factors that influence this. It is usually best to test them out for yourself. Good luck,

Benson
