Rebuilding seat frames

I'm rebuilding the seat frame on a Kennebec and I'm wondering what kind of glue to use. The seats are maple, doweled together.

I believe I have read about a marine glue on some other posts on here. Wish I had a name for you.

I suppose a traditional restoration would demand hide glue... which is water soluble, so might not be the best choice. Gorilla Glue, or Titebond 3, are waterproof glues; I use hardware-store epoxy.

Thanks. Something waterproof is what I was thinking. I'm thinking about getting some West System epoxy.
