I don't know of any existing serial number records for the Peterborough Canoe Company so there may not be much additional information available.
Sorry,

Rice Cake,

I was speaking to Jeremy Ward of the Canadian Canoe Museum a few weeks ago at the Toronto Woodworking Show and I think he mentioned that after 1939 the Peterborough Canoe Co. switched their serial numbers from being 3 digits to 4 digits. Unfortunately, this date doesn't provide much more information than what Dan Miller provided you in the Research and History section of the website (re: Lakequeens being made after 1938).

Rob,

I think you missunderstod what Jeremy Ward said.
The serial number records of Peterborough Canoe Co was either lost or destroyed when the company closed.

However, around 1939 Peterborough Canoe Co changed their Model Numbers from two and three digits to four digits.

Before 1939 a typical Peterborough Canoe Co number consisted of a two or three digit model number followed by a serial number. After 1939 it consisted of a four digit model number followed by a serial number
