Curious about Wooden Canoes
I haven't been able to find any info regarding the rocker of any of the (new) Old Town wooden canoes.

Does anyone know where I could find specs of this type?
Which of the Old Town designs (e.g. Trapper 15, Guide 16, Otca 16) is most similar to the Chestnut Prospector?

thanks,
MTW

In short, none of them. Design-wise, Old Town never built anything remotely close to a Prospector. With respect to purpose (extended tripping) the Old Town Guide comes closest, but you have to move up to a 18' Guide to gain the same capacity (Chestnut Prospector capacity 850 pounds, 1978, Old Town Guide 18 736 poounds, 2003). With respect to paddling performance they will be completely different critters.

Old Town canoes are famous for many things, but rockered hulls is not one of them.
