The Old Town with serial number 160654 is a nine foot long dinghy so that isn't a good match. The only 16 foot long canoes in the the 16065x group are numbers 160656 (which is a 16 foot long HW model that was 33 inches wide) and 160657 (which is a 16 foot long Yankee model that was 36 inches wide). How wide is your canoe and can you attach pictures of the serial numbers from each end?

36 inch wide. Serial number is only on one end which made us wonder if stems were replaced. Diamond bolts are the main OT characteristics.
The Old Town canoe with serial number 160657 is a 16 foot long, CS (common sense or middle) grade, Yankee model with a keel. It was built between August and October, 1953. The original exterior paint color was fire red. It shipped on April 1st, 1954 to Russells Point, Ohio. A scan of this build record can be found below.

Could we have the build record for the Old Town HW #160656? We have some uncertainty still between that one and the Yankee model. I'm measuring the beam from outside of gunwale to opposite outside, which measures 36". Is that the correct dimension to use, or is the correct measure from inside to inside of inwales? Both sides of the build record for the Old Town with serial number 160656 are attached below. The 1920 catalog page at https://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/dimens-1.gif lists the dimensions for both models. These are commonly measured as the extreme outside dimension in a straight line. My guess is that you probably have number 160657.
