New guy, need help identifying boats

Hello all. My story is this. We had a place on a lake in Maine when I was a kid. There was a boat there that I really loved. I think it was an Old Town but I'm not positive about that. We called it "The Sponson". I have attached pics I have of that boat and I hope they will allow it's identification. I don't remember how long it was. I'm the little guy in the pics and they are probably from the very early sixties.

I have seen an ad for a Old Town row boat with sponsons that is for sale now. Pics in the next post. All I have are those 3 pictures from the ad. I'm afraid to go look because I'd probably buy it and I'm not ready for that yet. It does say it's 16' long but not much else. My question is, is the model boat for sale close to The Sponson? I don't remember enough to tell on my own. Thanks for any insights given.

It looks like the canoe you show in the first post is a square-end paddling canoe, while the boat for sale is a square stern model. They differ in the width of the transom.

Ahh I see. Thanks for the information. The square end paddling canoe is a little more shapely. Is it just the picture or does the bow of The Sponson curve up more than the square stern model?
