Lapse time canvas filler question

Is there any harm to be had if when applying canvas filler you apply one coat and wait a day to apply another, etc? My age and stamina aren't conducive to much more than a coat a day. Will appreciate your ideas on the matter.

I can only say that the maker (Stewart River Boatworks) who's filler I used states in their instruction that if you let it sit for up to a day - scuff sand it before appling he next coat. more time than that and I got the impression you were out of luck.

I did go back a couple hours shy of 24 hours and found some spots to touch up ( note to self - get going earlier so you can finish in good light) a light sanding and the next coat seemed to have gone on just fine.
