Just bought this canoe and I'm not sure of it's maker. DSCN0172.JPGDSCN0173.JPGDSCN0179.JPGDSCN0180.JPGDSCN0182.JPGI can't find a 16' ,31' beam Chestnut canoe that also has a 13.5" depth. The ribs are 2" with a 1" space, it has slot screws in the gunwales. and no identification markings, any ideas?

Chestnuts typically have about an inch of tumblehome, which would put you at close to 33" beam as your ruler is located... Chestnut catalog specifications should be considered as guidelines more than rules - they are known to be inaccurate in many cases. For the depth, it could have increased as a result of pulling in the rails, as Mike suggests above, or the bottom may have rounded out over time, which sometimes happens.
