Thank you for your help . I Have 3- 18' OT canoes . The one that is in quite nice original condition is #21809 .It has saling hardware and is Dark green with gold band with red edges under gunwales . Stripe starts and stops even with decks . Also has gold stylized S with red edges on bow . Second one, #126057 is sound but has peeling canvas . Same exact color scheme with sailing hardware . Third is #61831 and is sound but no canvas . History and estimation of value will be appreciated as I just acquired these . Thanks again . Saugerties N.Y

Quite a collection! Me-thinks you did a raid in the Philadelphia area! ;)

21809 appears on a 18' HW model in AA grade with mahogany outside rails, seats, decks and thwarts. It had a keel and outside stems, a mast step and mast seat and a "locker under the bow deck" a notation I have not seen before. It was painted white and shipped to Philadelphia in May of 1912.

61831 appears on an 18' Otca Model in AA grade, mahogany rails, seats, decks and thwarts, and a keel. It was painted Light Blue with a 2" dark blue stripe with what I believe is TD (turned down?) ends. It was shipped to Philiadelphia in December of 1920.

126057 appears on a 18' Otca in CS (common Sense) grade, with spruce rails, birch seats, decks and thwarts a keel and a floor rack. It was painted dark green and shipped to Camden NJ (across the bridge from Philadelphia) in June of 1940. No mention of sailing hardware, but that was often added afterwards.

Copies of all three build records are attached.

Market value is often difficult to determine, but you may get some ideas here... http://forums.wcha.org/showthread.php?t=57

Scans of approximately 210,000 records were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. Additional information about the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/records/ if you want more details. Please join WCHA or make a tax deductable contribution so that services like this can continue. See http://www.wcha.org/wcha/ to learn more about the WCHA, http://www.wcha.org/wcha_video.php to watch a 10 minute video about WCHA and our programs and http://www.wcha.org/join.html to join. If you are already a WCHA member, THANK YOU!

It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match your canoe. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.

Thank you

Appreciate all the information . These were all bought in Hudson NY and may have been brought up from Penn. just for the auction . Thanks again .

No problem. I'm in the Albany area and frequently pass through Saugerties if you ever want to kibbitz on canoes.
