The list at http://www.wcha.org/history/maine-list.htm shows the Prescott Boat Company from about 1942 to 1952 in Brewer which is just down river from Old Town.

Interesting comments and observations. I had never considered that the decks might have been sawed to bent shape rather than actually bent. I may be able to determine that after I remove them. Also, I have never heard of a Prescott canoe but that doesn't mean anything coming from me. I'll have to research that possibility. The ribs are tapered but the taper doesn't start untill approximately 6"-8" from the rib tips. Thanks for your input.
