Dating and Identifying a canoe PLEASE!!

I was given an old wooden canoe, that I have restored. It is a square stern 14' long 36" beam and 13.5" deep. It has a stamp on the bow beam that says [AG1140} this boat was given to me by a neighbor who used to duck hunt and fish on Black Creek in upstate New York. The neighbor recently past away. The restoration came out mint!! I wish he could see it now!! Any help on identifying and dating the canoe, or any minor details would be great!!

Any chance of posting a few pictures of it?.....Helps identify certain characteristics of the different builders! I am sure someone on here has knowledge of that type of serial # but I am not...one thing it isnt and that is its not an Old Town!...Good Luck
