The Old Town canoe with serial number 35354 is a 16 foot long, CS (Common Sense or middle) grade, Double Ended boat model with red Western cedar planking, open spruce gunwales, ash decks, ash thwarts, ash seats, a keel, outside stems, and a floor rack. It was built between November, 1914 and 1915. The original exterior paint color was dark green. The shipping date and destination information are not clear. It was returned for repairs on March 23rd, 1931. A scan of this build record can be found by following the link at the attached thumbnail image below.
This scan and several hundred thousand others were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at
http://www.wcha.org/ot_records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See
http://www.wcha.org/about-the-wcha/ to learn more about the WCHA and
http://store.wcha.org/WCHA-New-Membership.html to join.
It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match your canoe. Most of the information at
http://forums.wcha.org/showthread.php?57 about how to value an old canoe will apply to a boat like this. It is usually best to sell an old wooden boat or canoe as-is since the costs of a restoration will often exceed the value. A fully restored one is listed at
http://wcha.org/pp-classifieds/showproduct.php?product=90 for $3K if that helps. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.
