The Old Town canoe with serial number 19958 is a 16 foot long, CS (common sense or standard) grade HW (heavy water) model with red western cedar planking, spruce gunwales and finish rails, ash seats, decks and thwarts, and was equipped with a keel. It was built between December 1911 and July 1912. The original exterior paint color was bright red . It was shipped to Dixfield, Maine on July 24, 1912.
