Benson Gray Canoe History Enthusiast Staff member May 18, 2008 #2 Unfortunately, there are no known White serial number records available. My guess is that this is a 18 and a half foot canoe from 1948 that was the 588th one built after they started numbering them that way. Some information about the White canoe models can be found in the White catalogs contained on the Historic Wood Canoe and Boat Company Catalog Collection CD available from http://woodencanoe.org/catalog/prod...d=406&osCsid=5b84943673d6d5387ccf2f8f02b361a5 and http://www.dragonflycanoe.com/cdrom.htm on the web.
