I think you mean Verolite? Verolite was canvas that had a tinted vinyl layer on one side. I know it was used by the Canadian canoe company Tremblay - don't know if anyone else ever used it. Its appeal was that it weighed quite a bit less than traditional filled canvas. But over time it was found that it didn't hold up as well as filled canvas as it eventually developed cracks and leaked. I also understand that the colors faded in sunlight earlier than expected.
