My family has owned a wood/canvas Chestnut canoe with a serial # on the stem reading 47263. I was wondering how old it was and what model it is?

Sadly, there are no serial number records from the Chestnut Canoe Company that are known to still exist. The Chestnut information at http://www.dragonflycanoe.com/id/ may help you identify the age of your canoe from other characteristics.
