Hi I am looking at purchasing this canoe. THe owner says it has on both sides written White Old Maine. Any idea's on it? Thank you, Greg

I suspect that this may be a White-rib model as shown in the attached page from the 1985 White catalog. More information about this and other White canoes can be found at http://store.wcha.org/The-Historic-...pany-Catalog-Collection-Version-2-CD-ROM.html in the Historic Wood Canoe and Boat Company Catalog Collection. It should also have a hull identification number on the starboard stern as described at http://www.boatsafe.com/nauticalknowhow/hin.html with an encoded date. Good luck,
