Broken Ribs-1948 OT

I am in the process of stripping the OT and was wondering about the splits at the tops of the ribs. I was at a boat builders shop and he had epoxied the ribs instead of replacing everyone that had a split. What is the thought on that? How much split can be repaired with epoxy and left in place. Thanks Bev

Repairing the ends of the ribs is perfectly exceptable. It's the cracks further along the bilge near the bent area and the floor that can effect the hull shape. So, if its "cosmetic" repair work, dont get too worried about it impacting the integrity of the boat.
