I'm sorry for the late reply but it has been a busy summer. This appears to be a Coast Guard hull identification number from 1984. The WCH indentifier information at http://www.uscgboating.org/recalls/mic_detail.aspx?id=WCH indicates that this prefix is currently issued to Equinox Design but was previously used by the "WHITCRAFT DIV, WINONA, MN" which went out of business by July, 1987. My guess is that you have a Whitcraft canoe from Winona, Minnesota not a White Canoe from Old Town, Maine. Pictures might help as Kathy mentioned in a reply to your other posting about this canoe. Feel free to reply here and I will try to reply more quickly,
