Woodrow Willson's Morris

Wooden Canoes are in the Blood
On the way home from the Wooden Boat Show in Mystic, CT, Jean and I stopped at the Florence Griswold Museum in Old Lyme. We went there to see all the impressionist artwork but as a bonus we saw Woodrow Wilson's Morris canoe. It is mentioned in Kathy's book on page 245. Attached are a couple pictures. Unfortunately because it is stored up in a loft I could not see if it has two or three sets of cant ribs. The serial number tag is located on the inwale. A photo which accompanied the description of the canoe shows five people standing in the canoe including one standing on the seat. I couldn't help wondering if the photo preceded all of them being dumped in the river.

See you at the Assembly,

Jim
