I was moving snow earlier this week and decided that it is not a good sign when my newest plastic canoe is currently outside in the snow because all of the covered spaces are occupied by wooden canoes.

Don't know if you are knee deep in snow in Kamloops but Andres pictures certainly put the memories front and centre of what it is all about.Obviously I didn't take the photos as the horizon is level.
Benson that is a remarkable photo.Like you outlined the trees with a black marker.
Snowing here again.Half a day digging out and I wish those boats were all under cover.Unfortunatly tarps suffice for some.I shovel them off but....

Andre; This post leads to 3 questions about the rudder photo.
1.What are those gudgeons that resemble drapery hardware and how well do they survive. They look like a good idea.ad.What are they and where do they come from?
2.What are those wdgets on the rear deck? Can't be anchor leads to slow down your speed.
3.Why do you have that honking big deck cap?

I tried to load a picture of the shop in winter but you can't see it.
However my neighbour just towed his boat home without a trailer. No problem

3 questions

this is Dan Sutherlands boat, Stormy Skyes. Dont know how much is scratch built, but he sure didnt go to West Marine for parts. Not a piece of carbon fibre, ballistic nylon or the more rare Unobtanium anywhere on the boat. The whole reason I refused paint on the deck. Not stitch and glue so beautiful bright hull.
I've got a couple of great pictures of him on my boat on a massive hike, but someone shot the picture in raw format so until i compress it its 4mb and not able to be uploaded.

1. The rudder mounts are old sail track hardware. The brass cap on top keeps the rudder from floating off the track.

2. The widgets take the swivel blocks for the mizzen sheet.
