There's a very nice story (see link below) about the upcoming Willits Brothers canoe gathering just across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge from Tacoma, right in the area where the Willits Brothers created their canoes from the teens through the early 1960s. Should be a great gathering with highly enthusiastic people and great canoes. And a fun read:

Willits canoes were immensely popular in the Northwest for 50 years, and still have many devotees today. The vessels have Gig Harbor roots.
