Which tool

Paul I have a Plan "B"

A couple of years ago I took a two week solo up in the Boundary Waters. I set up a shuttle with an outfitter in Grand Marais to get me to the put in and pick me up at the take out.
He saw my Bell Merlin and told me he was contracted to make the woodwork for the early Bell's. He was still a little bitter about the contract being taken away from him. But, I know he has the answer if nobody at Bell remembers.

One thing I will highly recommend is to give a lot of thought to a permanant sharpening station. You can't work effectively if you don't keep your tools sharp, and you won't sharpen them as needed unless the sharpening stuff is out and ready to go. In many ways, this is the most important part of the shop...
Dan, nice to see this. My son insisted a separate area we are building into the shop dedicated to sharpening that we will curtain off from the rest of the bottom area to prevent metal from being around the wood. He has been sharpening and honing the chisels etc and making bracing for the corners or the interior framing by hand. Solid advice.
