This boat sat in an impound yard for years and I recently rescued it so any help in identifying it is welcome
In san Diego CA if anyone needs to see it to figure it out
Probably going to sell unless I develope the funds to restore
After thought ( should I seal it with a protective oil ???

This doesn't appear to match any of the boats shown in the Penn Yan catalogs at the first link below so it may be from another builder. Have you found a serial number? A Penn Yan would usually have a lettered model code prefix as listed in the second link below. A wooden boat forum like the one at https://forum.woodenboat.com/ can probably provide better answers. It is usually best to not seal or oil a wooden boat if you plan to sell it. This can make things more difficult to restore. Good luck,

Benson

Much appreciated, and I was able to get ahold of tj ( a Penn Yan expert )on the east coast who confirmed it was not a Penn Yan.
Wasnt able to identify it either but told me to contact a century boat forum as might be one
Again thank you

A hell of a boat. I would get it out of the weatha and not do anything to it until you do your research into the builder, and ascertain what should be done involving others who may really help with the plan and execution. It looks very well built and appears all mahogany. It appears to have good age with the style and hardware, some of which is killer eg. the bow chocks , spot light and bow plate. Make sease to understand the boat before trying to put a value on if you can store it in the meantime.
Have fun. Dave
