Thompson or not?

LOVES Wooden Canoes
Can anyone identify this canoe. It was advertised as a 1937 Thompson Indian. It is 17' long by 32" wide by 12" deep.
it also has two hole in a faded rectangle on the bow deck, which I suppose held a metal tag in place at one time. I will post
photos to help ID this canoe.

Thanks, Macky

Photos will confirm, but the rectangular tag is a pretty good indicator. lizQ2.jpg

Dan, Thank you so much for posting the photos.

Dave, Where can I get a replacement metal tag for this canoe?

Macky,
The bow seat hanger board (vs the standard dowels on most canoes), the stem profile, and deck are giveaways to a Thompson. It's an Indian model. What determined that it was a 1937 model?
Dave

Dave,
The fellow I bought it from in Wisconsin told me it was a 1937. He also told me it was 16' long, but it is 17'. If you get to Florida maybe you can check it out and tell me what you think. I plan to bring it to the Assembly in 2013 as Thompson is the theme. Do you plan to attend the Assembly next year?
