The Geneology of Rushton Watercraft

As I work on my Rushton research, I have struggled with how to portray the watercraft offerings and how they relate to each other. I messed around with a new bit of software, and came up with the attached PDF that I think captures most of what I am trying to visualize. Once downloaded and opened in your PDF viewer of choice, you will probably need to zoom in and scroll around to see the parts that interest you.

The canoe and boat data comes from 26 different Rushton catalogs.

The left half of the tree is the beginnings of research in to the workers of the Rushton factory, and as it stands, is drawn solely from two photographs that identified the people in them. Lots more to do here.

As usual, comments welcome.

The dashed lines suggest correlation?
Indian Girls 1-4 1904-1916?
That's to make the connection that the all-wood Indian Girl was derived from the canvas covered Indian Girl. I was sent photos of an all-wood Indian Girl, so we know the offering in the catalog was followed through at least once.

That is, if I am interpreting your question correctly.

Dan, Thank you for doing this. It looks like it represents a lot of work. But I must admit I am a little confused. I presume that the years within parenthesis represent when that particular model was either built or listed in a catalog. However what, for example, does "Nos. 3-8" mean? Maybe I just have not had enough coffee yet.

Yes, the numbers in parentheses are the year range that model was offered in a catalog.

Nos. 3-8, to use your example are the model numbers used by Rushton. Typically they are the same model built to different lengths - in this case there were 6 lengths offered.
