LOVES Wooden Canoes
Built from the specifications of our 1922 St. Louis Meramec canoe, an Alfred Wickett design. Now off the form and ready for the next steps. Great work Wally Hauck, John Strasser and Bill Hibdon and others who helped along the way.

Here are some more photos of our first attempt at building a canoe. Modeled after John and Dorothy's #381 St. Louis Meramec Canoe.
Stelmok's and Thurlow's books are never far out of reach! Will keep you posted on the progress.

That's a Morris, #10787. It has 24" decks with combing. Just took the canvas off to replace this winter. We still use it a lot.........Wally

Thanks for posting. Makes me wish I could pull out one of the forms and make a new one from scratch again. But other projects to restore first. I had the priviledge of doing a St Louis this summer. Nice canoes.

Will you be using the arrowhead deck?

Very nice! I remember when I pulled my first canoe off the form. You just sort of stand back and say to yourself, "Wow! Did I really build that?"
