A guy on Facebook is looking for the build record for 101922. Says it’s a 1922 because of the serial number. If true it’s just a coincidence.

The Old Town canoe with serial number 101922 is an 18 foot long, CS (common sense or middle) grade, square end paddling model with red western cedar planking, open spruce gunwales, oak decks, half ribs, a keel, and outside stems. It was built between May and June, 1929. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It shipped on August, 8th, 1929 to Burlington, Maine. The back side of the card indicates that it returned for repairs on May 4th, 1966. It returned to Medham, New Jersey on July 13th, 1966. A scan showing both sides of this build record can be found below.

These scans were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others as you probably know well. Additional information about the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/records/ if you want more details. Your life membership to the WCHA is much appreciated.

It is possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match your canoe. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.
