First couple of times paddling with my 4 year old grandson. First 2 photos in my 1954 OT guide and the last 4 in the canoe his mother and I built at Bearwood canoe shop in 2011.

My father built a canoe when I was four. He started me on a lifetime on the water. Thanks Pop!

Awesome job Grampa! We have to keep the generations behind us interested in these old craft. Your grandson has the makings of a great canoeist, nice stroke for a 4 year old. And only Grandpas can get away with what looks like a dozen doughnuts for just the two of you ha!
I myself got two of my grandsons 4 and 6 out for a few nights in Algonquin Park 2 weekends ago. Special times.
Thanks for sharing, Gary
