Serial numbers can often reveal a lot about an old canoe. If you find a serial number on your canoe, post it here. Perhaps something can be learned from it.

I recently got a used canoe that I was told was an Old Town Carleton. It is 16' long light green, fiberglass and wood construction with serial number: 1 89956 C. How would I go about finding out more about it? I think it is from 1972 but am not sure
