Serial Number Help

I recently acquired a 'project canoe' with the following serial number
603048836
The gentleman that gave it to me (because he didn't have enough time to restore it) was under the impression that it is a Peterborough but I don't think so. Does anyone know what she is?

Oh, and right now she's just tacked together so that I could get her home on the roof .. in case all the strait lines were throwing anyone off. I know I have my work cut out for me...

Those are a lot more digits on the rail than are typically found in wooden canoe's serial number. The list of Peterborough model numbers at http://dragonflycanoe.com/wood-canoe-identification-guide/peterborough-canoe-company/ may help. Is there anything on the inside stems and can you provide some pictures of them. The information at http://forums.wcha.org/showthread.php?791 may help if you are not sure where to look. Looking at the bow (or most forward in the picture), there is a reddish-brown piece of wood sticking up above the deck, and at its base is something black. Is the black the remainder of the original stem which has been cut off and the reddish is a re-enforced stem that has been epoxied on? On the deck is a dark stripe. Is that showing where a brass stem band once was attached? Again on the deck, is it showing the remains of a square decal? Tom McCloud
