The Old Town canoe with serial number 99843 is a 17 foot long, CS (Common Sense or middle) grade, HW (Heavy Water) model with red western cedar planking, open spruce gunwales, oak decks, oak thwarts, oak seats, and a keel. It was built between November, 1928 and May, 1929. The original exterior paint color was dark red. It was shipped on May 28th, 1929 to Lorain, Ohio. This scan and several hundred thousand others were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others as you probably know well.
