The Old Town canoe with serial number 163078 is a 17 foot long Otca model with a keel. It was built between February and August, 1955. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It shipped on August 25th, 1955 to McDaniel, Maryland. It was damaged in transit and returned on October 20th, 1955. The repairs required two new inside gunwales and seven hours of labor as shown on the back side of the card. It was then resold to Ann Arbor, Michigan on April 2nd, 1956. These scans and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others.
