Serial # 17127 and 171226 both 15' recent barn finds

Welcome, the Old Town and Carleton canoes with serial number 17127 are both 17 feet long so they aren't a good match. Your picture shows serial number 171270. This is a 15 foot long fifty pound model with a keel. It was built between July and August, 1961. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It shipped on August 16th, 1961 to Kalamazoo, Michigan.
The Old Town with serial number 171226 is identical and shipped with the same order number, date, and destination. Scans showing both build records can be found below.
