Repair Kit

Enthusiastic about Wooden Canoes
I have a Repair Kit. It is in a cardboard tube with a screw off lid. On the tube is: Repair Kit
Color , Dark Green
For
Canvas Covering of Canoes and Boats
-Put up by-
Old Town Canoe Co.
Old Town, Maine, U.S.A.
It also has a drawing of a man and woman on the tube in a canoe and the woman has a parasol.
Inside is a piece of canvas, two canisters of tacks, a small tin of green paint and another tin that I am not sure what is in it. It appears that the kit has never been used. Does anyone when these were made and the approximate worth.

These show up on eBay occasionally and the prices typically range from about $30 to over $50. There was a short article about them on page 12 of the Wooden Canoe Journal issue number 153 from June of 2009 with the picture below. These were first listed in the 1909 catalog and remained there until the 1970 one. Let me know if this doesn't answer your question. Thanks,

Benson
