removing inwale

What is the best way to remove the inwale with out damaging the ends of the ribs that are nailed to inwale?

If you have no need to save the inwale, one way to remove it is to saw it into shorter sections between ribs, use a chisel to split the inwale away from the nails, then push the nails out through the rib.
