Benson Gray Canoe History Enthusiast Staff member Aug 11, 2016 #2 I don't know if any Penn Yan canoes were painted this way but Old Town listed one in their 1919 catalog as shown at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/designs/maritime.gif along with some brighter variations. Two 17 foot long Carleton canoes were shipped to Chicago with camouflage paint as shown at http://forums.wcha.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=22601&d=1344719109 in May, 1919. See http://forums.wcha.org/showthread.php?9668 for more about that Carleton order and http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/designs/thumbnal.html has a few similar Old Town designs. Please post some pictures of what you decide to do. Benson Last edited: Aug 11, 2016
