Hi Rob,
If you're referring to the "retro-fitted decks" on the canoe in photos that I posted, it is only the decking itself that I think is new. The deck substructure appears to be original. What may appear as especially highly peaked is an artifact of perspective. That is, the decks may look far more peaked than they actually are because of the angle from which the photo was taken. The actual peak is much like that in the canoe that Peter posted.
