I think i have a 1945 peterbourgh mermaid canoe .... it was built in Ontario. the numbers in the reel are 5814 5985 . it has one double bladed oar... like a kayak . it is in perfect condition, cedar and canvas .... does this sound correct ??? I am trying to help an elderly friend sale this but am unsure what I have ... the canoe and oars have the peterbourgh emblem on them ..any info you would have would be greatly appreciated.... marty

The information at http://dragonflycanoe.com/id/ indicates that the Peterborough Canoe Company's Mermaid model typically had a model number of 1814 so your numbers don't seem to match this pattern.
