Penn Yan Carry Canoe

I just came across a Penn Yan Carry Canoe. I haven't seen one before and I was just wondering if anyone else has. Are they fairly common?

As I remember, the carry canoe that I worked on had red cedar ribs- brittle. I believe that I actually used red cedar ribs to replace the originals. Soaked for two days in order to keep from breaking. But, being a Penn Yan, yours could have white cedar ribs. Production was paramount!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the pic Dan. Gil, the ribs are like a cartopper, they may be red cedar. I’ll get some pics of this one posted this weekend.

I must say, there are some really cool things that show up on/in this forum. This is one. A demi canoe that has decent lines! Brilliant.
