The forward holes get either screws or rivets into the outer stems, and the rear holes go into the inner stem. If f the hole is chamfered it calls for a brass slotted screw. If the hol is not chamfered, use a piece of 3/16 copper or brass rod and with your clinching iron on the back side peen it so it won’t go through. Do same to other side.
It is important to be able to locate the hole on the inner stem. I put a 3/16” dowel in the hole just a little proud.
When you sand and paint the hull, you will sand into the dowel and through the canvas.
That’s yer hole!
